Layout,

The Akko 3084 is a wireless mechanical keyboard that has 84 total keys in a non-standard ANSI layout. It is very similar to the standard TKL (Tenkeyless) keyboards, but it has a more compact footprint. It has a decent physical measurement of 12.3by 5-inches and it weighs about 764 grams, a pretty standard weight for a plastic case, and steel back.

Connectivity

As the name suggests, the keyboard is Bluetooth enabled for connectivity. The only downside is that the keyboard is only connected to the 3.0 standard instead of 4.0 or newer. Whereas we all know that Bluetooth 4.0 and later standards offer the improved range, lower latency, and power-saving protocols as compared to 3.0 and below.

Case and Build Quality

The Akko 3084’s material has a nice-looking finish case as it is made of plastic with a 2-piece design. It feels somewhat flimsy and lightweight. The case is thin on texture and prone to flexing when force is applied.

The switches are mounted to a thick steel backplate. It is painted black which improves aesthetics and helps with rust prevention. This robust backplate provides most of the keyboard’s structural integrity and limits flexing. most of the flex is in the top shell as you will notice, which is common on plastic cases with this 2-piece design.

Conclusion on the Akko 3084 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard

Somewhat plain 75% wireless mechanical keyboard. Build quality is decent with genuine Cherry MX switches and above-average PBT keycaps, but it’s lacking in features and customization options compared to similarly priced Bluetooth mechs.
